She has a BBA in Marketing from Tarleton State University and a Master of Theological Studies from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.

In 2011 she formed her own company and self-published a memoir about being in the middle of the PK Complex wildfire. It is titled The Burning Beast: 14 Days of Fire, Fear and the Power of Social Media. Proceeds are donated to volunteer fire departments.

Her writing background includes published articles, essays, columns and editorials for multiple magazines and newspapers. She taught at the North Texas Christian Writers Conference in 2008 and 2009 and has received two writing awards.

She recently finished her book, Find Center: Natural Pathways to Holistic Equilibrium and is currently working on Insights from the Inside, which contains perspectives from being inside prison. Kim is collaborating with a psychologist who spent 20 years working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Kim has taught children’s Sunday school, led a children’s group in church and video-taped church services for television in the Baptist Church. She was later confirmed in the Catholic Church, where she is now a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. For three years she wrote and taught a weekly exegetical Bible study for her parish.

Kim maintains a healthy lifestyle by wakeboarding, paddleboarding, hiking, power walking, fishing, cross-country skiing, swimming, kayaking, yoga and weight training.

Her education, spirituality, fitness experience and sense of humor are reflected in her writing. Personal tragedies in Kim’s life help her to empathize with humanity’s suffering. She draws strength from her faith and transforms life’s negativity into inspirational pieces with a positive take away.
